Today the LEA2 Performance Sim will be bringing you quite a different event than what it has held to date. Gish (Kit) Guardian and her Shine Productions will perform The Stronger (Swedish: Den starkare) a play written by August Strindberg in 1889. The one scene play is a conversation between two women, actresses who meet by chance at a restaurant while one has been sitting there reading and drinking, and the other is out shopping for Christmas gifts. The two women, though both actresses and sometime rivals, live very dissimilar lives. This simple, yet intricate play is rich with layers of an unspoken dialogue that is just beneath the surface of the topics they discuss. Gish has been a strong theatre artist in sl with some great multi-scened and larger cast shows…it says a lot about her confidence and experience to take on the difficulty of performing a one scene -small cast play which must build such a strong story in such a small time frame. The performances are as follows:
