The History of the Vehicle in SL - a Linden Endowment for the Arts Project

Six months in the planning, "The History of the Vehicle in SL - a Linden Endowment for the Arts Project" features the works of close to 50 creators and over 130 vehicles on exhibit. With vehicles in the museum dating as far back as 2005, you will see the evolution of the vehicle from its prim origins, all the way up to the highly detailed mesh wonders of today in the main display exhibit. Builders and creators in this showcase range from the novice to the professional, so be sure to click the signs near the exhibits for more information.

The showcase has something for everyone; cars, bikes, trucks and more.  The 'Celebrity Tribute' section contains vehicles made famous on film and in television, while the novelty section displays the wild and crazy side of transportation. Feel welcome to wander around the sim and view the whimsical side of vehicle building, snag information about vehicle racing in SL or just sit in one of the many quiet spots under a gazebo or in the memory garden.

Weekends will bring entertainment from tribute concerts to live DJs.  Be sure to take a copy of the entertainment schedule in the main reception area.

Showcase will run from April 1st to May 31, 2015

  1. Awesome design and awesome idea, Sapph! Months of organizing brought so many creators together. If only the sim would hold 100,000 prims you could bring together all the original creators. Ha Ha. I hope everyone takes the time to peruse the vehicles and get to know the creators and their work. Your support and encouragement to show what these folks have created is an honorable accomplishment and I am so proud of you! You've met so many new creators in the "industry" that you didn't know before this event and I'm sure the same will happen among the creators and with your visitors! A proud salute to you Ms. Sapph! This exhibit reveals the big picture of just how far virtual vehicles have advanced in one decade!
