Apologies for the switcheroos, but "real" life keeps messing up the scheduling for these classes! Anyway, they will be on two consecutive days, which was the original plan.
LEA Land Grant Recipient and (in my estimation) Jedi Master of Scripting Oberon Onmura will offer a two-part BASICS LSL Scripting for Artists at the Linden Endowment for the Arts SoVA (School of Virtual Arts).
NOTE DATE CHANGES!!
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LEA9/234/225/625
Saturday August 4 10 AM PST (SL TIME)BASICS 1 (1 hour) assumes no knowledge of LSL or previous scripting or programming experience. Students will be presented with a thorough description of the scripting language structure, syntax, and typical uses in Second Life art making. Included will be some practice using the LSL editor. Sample scripts will be provided for some hands-on experience.
Sunday August 5 10 AM PST (SL TIME)
BASICS 2 (1 hour) (Prerequisite: BASICS 1 or equivalent) After reviewing the concepts and techniques introduced in BASICS 1, focus will be on using scripts to control prim attributes such as textures, colors, size and shape. Sample scripts will provide a framework for hands-on practice in editing scripts to achieve particular effects.
Landmark will be here closer to the date.
Check back here for more LEA Art Talks and Classes, including a series of intermediate LSL Scripting for Artists classes from Oberon and presentations by the current group of LEA Land Grant Recipients, whose fabulous art you can see on LEA Regions 10-29. List with slurls here.
